The Association of descendants and the memory of Jean Ribault was created during the years 2010 in France (Paris) to highlight the personality of the browser to mark the 450th anniversary of his arrival in Florida (May 1562) which he took possession behalf of the King of France, Charles IX and creating Charles Fort (South Caroline) et FortCaroline (1564)(now Jacksonville in Florida).

The association aims to highlight the life and work of Jean Ribault (c. 1515-1565) by all available means (publications in paper or digital, travel, conferences, study days, seminars, films and reports, photographs etc.) or to come, both in France and abroad.
